By the end of April, a total of 1,925 cases of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boars had been reported, compared to 2,311 cases for the entire year of 2024.
As shown in the map below, the majority of wild boars were located or trapped in the northern and northwestern regions of the country.

ASF in wild boars in Poland shows a distinct seasonality, with outbreaks dominating in autumn, winter, and spring. Most cases are detected from September to May. In summer and autumn, when intensive field work takes place, there is an increase in ASF outbreaks in domestic pigs.
