The meeting served to learn about the reality of the productive sector, which helps the national economy, generating food, social peace, and jobs throughout the country.

Minister Valderrama emphasized that he feels optimistic after the meeting because the pork sector does not give up, on the contrary, every day it makes a greater effort to improve production, despite difficulties in the world such as wars and increased costs of raw materials.

Guevara, president of the Association of United Pig Farmers of Panama (APUP) and of the Cooperativa de Servicios Múltiples R. L., was satisfied with the answers regarding the measures to be implemented, the controls for meat and the aspiration to have a sales stand in the National and Municipal Markets.

Guevara, who was accompanied by a delegation, also emphasized that during the meeting they asked for the support of the National Government to continue improving swine genetics in Panama.
