The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of Nicaragua through the Agricultural Technology Institute (INTA) opened a new pig farm for genetic improvement at the Campos Azules Technological Research Center to encourage and strengthen pig farming in Region IV.

This is the second of four farms to be built in Nicaragua. The first was established in the town of Posoltega to provide semen for insemination and to increase pig production.

With this new farm that will serve the departments of Granada, Carazo, Masaya and Rivas, producers have the opportunity to acquire knowledge about improving genetics through breeding, as well as to learn the process of insemination and how to balance diets.
