Nicaragua declared free of classical swine fever

Nicaragua was declared free of classical swine fever, which predicts a promising future for the development of the pig in the country, currently affected by limitations in its exports because of the viral disease, authorities reported.

Nicaragua was declared free of classical swine fever, which predicts a promising future for the development of the pig in the country, currently affected by limitations in its exports because of the viral disease, authorities reported.

The statement was made by the Minister of agriculture and forestry (Magfor), Ariel Bucardo, and ratified by a delegate of the International Regional Organization of agricultural health (OIRSA).

“Nicaragua, classical swine fever virus already not circulates more”, held the official, who explained in the last five years have no record of this disease.
