New trend in the number of pig farms in Spain

Although year after year the number of farms has decreased, we must highlight the new trend started in 2014 and that has gone on in 2015.

Between 2007 and 2015 the variation in the number of pig farms in Spain has been negative (-13.72%), going from 99,561 farms to the current 87,553 farms, according to the report of the Subdirectorate General of Livestock Products of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Although year after year the number of farms has decreased, we must highlight the new trend started in 2014 and that has gone on in 2015. Whilst in 2013 there were 85,449 farms, in 2014 the number increased to 86,552 and in 2015 to 87,553.
