Last Friday, the veterinary authorities of Moldova informed the WOAH/OIE of the appearance of a new ASF outbreak in pigs.
The outbreak was detected on a backyard farm with 9 susceptible animals located in the village of Palanca (district of Voda), 49 km away from the centre of the district and 2 km away from the border with Ukraine. The pigs showed the typical signs of the disease. Samples were taken on April 24th, 2018, and the results were obtained on April 26th, 2018.
All the pigs were destroyed.
