The latest preliminary figures for meat consumption in Holland, published by PVE, show a general increase.

After several years of decreases in consumption, in 2009 pig meat consumption from 40.7 kg to 41.8 kg per capita, which represents a real consumption of around 21 kg per capita. The increase seems to be related to the increase of national consumption, the decrease in the price of meat and the offers given by many supermarkets to attract more custom.
