From July 2010 to March 2011, Mexico exported 29.818 tons of pork to Japan, 2.080 more then in the previous period (7.737 tons between July 2009 and March 2010).

This 7,5% increase in pork exportations to Japan is due to a promotional campaign carried out with the support of the Secretary of Agriculture, Farming RuralDevelopment, Fishing and Food (SAGARPA).

Commercial promotion was also carried out in South Korea in order to position Mexican pork within the market. Between 2010 and 2011 sales of 4.136 tons were reached in that nation; the total volume of exportation between Japan and Korea was 33 thousand 954 tons.
