Malaysia builds regional food safety centre

Malaysia wants to become a regional leader in food safety with the establishment of a Centre of Food Safety and an International Food Safety Training Laboratory.

The centre would also build the capacity of food safety services in the region. The Ministry will set up the MYR 65 million (USD 20.54 million) centre in Selangor and construction of the laboratory will be completed in 2014.
