Less meat consumed in Estonia

Pork has remained the most favored meat, with 34 kilograms per resident consumed last year.

Last year, the Estonians consumed five kilograms less meat per capita than in 2008 when the figure reached an all-time peak of 76 kilograms per person, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture.

Consumption of beef had declined the most over the two-year period, while chicken has become a more popular article on the Estonian menu. Pork, however, has remained the most favored meat, with 34 kilograms per resident consumed last year.
