With the final 2014 figures, the ASICI has published the RIBER record's annual data and their evolution.

The total number of pigs marketed in 2014 has been 2,381,080, growing by 19.36% with respect to 2013. The number of pigs depending on their genetic category are 2,222,517 Iberian pigs (93.34%) and 158,563 pure Iberian pigs (6.66%). Both categories have grown in a very similar way with respect to 2013.

In short, the ASICI's report considers that the current trend regarding the increase in the number of pigs marketed under the Quality Standard is summarised as follows:

1. A growing trend towards the highest quality categories: acorn-fed pigs and pure Iberian pigs (100% Iberian pigs).

2. Growth in the number of extensively-reared feed-fed pigs versus the intensively-reared feed-fed pigs.
