Weak and occasional rains made it possible to advance with the harvest, but the big news of this season is the yields. Against all forecasts, soybean yields are much higher than expected. In the core region, soybeans averaged 4.1 t/ha, with some yields exceeding 6 t/ha.
Heterogeneity among zones is notorious, but even in the most affected areas, some results exceed expectations. The highest yields were observed in the extreme south of Santa Fe and southeast Córdoba, with averages of 4.2 and 4.5 t/ha, respectively. In the Marcos Juarez area, yields are around 4 t/ha.

In contrast, northwestern Buenos Aires shows lower yields, with averages of 3.8 t/ha. Even so, in General Pinto, the results are 500 kg/ha above what was expected three months ago.
As for second crop soybeans, the first fields are also surprising. With only 25% of the area harvested, the average regional yield is 3.3 t/ha, surpassing the 3-ton barrier that was considered difficult to reach after the loss of 30% of the planted area in the northeast of the province of Buenos Aires due to extreme drought.
The second crop soybean harvest is progressing slowly: with only 25% of the harvested area, the pace is 28% below the five-year average, so the data could still vary in the coming weeks.
Soybeans had a strong boost in the last week thanks to the good weather, which allowed 900,000 hectares to be harvested. Overall progress reached 70%, although it is still below the 90% indicated by the historical average for this stage of the season. The areas most behind are the northwest of Buenos Aires (40%) and the northeast of the province (50%).
