The Ministers of Agriculture of the G20 opened, last week, a series of ministerial meetings under the German presidency of the G20. The priorities were water, the use of antibiotics and digitalisation.
Regarding the responsible use of antibiotics in animal and vegetable production, they agreed on each country submitting, in 2020, a hazard evaluation, at a national level, regarding the the safety, or a route map for the elimination of the use of antibiotics as growth promoters. In the EU, the use of antibiotics as growth promoters is forbidden since 2006.
