Breton pig cooperatives Aveltis, Triskalia, Prestor, Porelia and Syproporcs announced last Monday their intention to jointly market their pigs.

According to the press release, the French pig industry faces a real challenge to their survival and, to address this situation and after months of talks, Aveltis, Porelia, Prestor, Triskalia and Syproporc have decided to "join forces to build a collective offer together capable of enhancing the production value of its members."

Agriculture Minister Stephane Le Foll was in favour of this initiative by pig producers in Brittany.
