According to Intermarché's and its food and agriculture cluster Agromousquetaires' press release, the group will guarantee a minimum price for pig produccers.

Whilst the price of pig is at its minimum levels, the group has decided to support the pig industry in the long term by ensuring the producers a purchase price of up to €1.50/kg, versus the current price of €1.25/kg (premius included), for a period of 5 years.

This price has the particularity of bearing in mind the changes in the cost of feed (soy and wheat), that represent 65% of the total pig production costs.

The announcement has attracted many pig producers, especially those located near the Agromusquetaires abattoirs in Morbihan, Josselin and La Guerche de Bretagne.
