The Commercial Court at Coutances audited, last Tuesday 6 January, the Norman abattoirs AIM, that hire almost 600 people in Ste Cécile (50), Vire (14) and Antrain (35), with the hope of finding a buyer quickly.

The company is subject to a 6-month observation period, said Élise Brand, lawyer of the Central Committee. The company's survival is only possible if it is quickly sold, given the state of its liquid assets.

As in the case of Gad, AIM's management says that the Russian embargo on European pork, as well as “the German and Spanish competition” or “the retailer's price war” would explain the company's bad situation.
