Ivory Coast has taken a significant step forward in the fight against African swine fever, thanks to strategic support from the FAO.

Minister Sidi Tiemoko Touré has received essential equipment aimed at strengthening the country’s operational capacity to tackle the disease. This support is intended to enhance epidemiological surveillance, reinforce field interventions, and improve biosecurity measures.

These actions are part of the broader drive for food sovereignty promoted by the Ivorian authorities. The FAO, in cooperation with technical and financial partners, plays a strategic role in supporting government efforts to safeguard the agricultural sector against health threats such as African swine fever.
