European Union: updating of the list of food additives in meat preparations

The Commission Regulation (EU) 601/2014 modifies appendix II of the Commission Regulation (EU) 1333/2008 with respect to the categories of meats and the use of food additives in meat preparations.

In the Official Journal of the European Union no. 166 of 5 June 2014, the Commission Regulation 601/2014 has been published, and by means of it, the appendix II of the Commission Regulation (EU) is modified with respect to the categories of meats and the use of food additives in meat preparations.

The new Commission Regulation (EU) 601/2014 modifies the classification of the "Meat" food category in order to include the terms "fresh meat", "meat preparations" and "meat products", and the new conditions for the use of food additives in meat preparations.
