
Colombian pig slaughter in the first half of the last four years. Prepared by 333 Latin America using data from DANE.
According to preliminary data from ESAG-DANE, the cumulative pig slaughter in the first half of the year reached 3,033,457 head, representing a 2.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Results by region indicate increases in leading departments such as Antioquia (2.0%), Valle del Cauca (0.5%), and Cundinamarca (0.5%), while Risaralda recorded a 0.8% decrease.
Specifically for June, slaughter reached 516,776 head, up 5.4% year-on-year and down 4.8% month-on-month.
In June, the average live weight was over 117.9 kg/head, while the carcass weight was 95.7 kg. Carcass yield was estimated at 81.1%.
