China's meat production grew steadily in first three quarters

In the first three quarters of 2025, China's output of pork, beef, mutton and poultry was 73.12 million tons, up by 3.8% year on year. Of this total, the output of pork grew by 3.0%, beef grew by 3.3%, and poultry by 7.2%, while mutton dropped by 4.3%.

At the end of the third quarter, the number of pigs registered in stock was 436.80 million, up by 2.3% year on year; and 529.92 million pigs were slaughtered, up by 1.8% in the first three quarters.
