The growing volume of Brazilian pork exported to Chile is raising interest, according to researchers at the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea).
According to data from Brazil's Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), the volume exported rose from 7,700 tons in January this year to 13,300 tons in August. The peak was reached in July, with 14,500 tons shipped to Chile, double the amount in January. As a result, researchers note that Chile became the second leading destination for Brazilian pork in July and August, ahead of China.
