Farmers organisation Copa-Cogeca warned the current crisis in the pigmeat sector on the continent is unsustainable and many producers will go out of business if no action is taken.

There have been repeated requests to Brussels in recent months for the introduction of export refunds, but the European Commission has argued they are not necessary.
