The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) reports that Brazilian pork exports (including all products, fresh and processed) totaled 118,700 tons, 13.7% more than in the same period last year (104,400 tons).
In terms of revenue, there was a 29.3% increase at USD 291.1 million in May this year, compared to USD 225.2 million in the same period last year.

In the year to date (January to May), shipments reached 584.8 thousand tons, 15.4% more than in the same period last year (506.6 thousand tons).
In terms of revenue, the balance for the first five months of this year was USD 1.381 billion, a 29.8% increase on the previous year's figure of USD 1.064 billion.
The main destination for Brazilian pork exports, the Philippines, imported 28,200 tons in May, 115% more than in the same period last year. Next in line are China, with 11,900 tons (-43%), Chile, with 10,900 tons (+21%), Singapore, with 8,300 tons (+7.1%), and Japan, with 8,200 tons (+60%).
Santa Catarina continues to be Brazil's main pork exporter, with 59,600 tons exported in May this year (+8.7% compared to the same period last year), followed by Rio Grande do Sul, with 27,300 tons (+15.8%), Paraná, with 19,200 tons (+28.9%), Mato Grosso, with 3,000 tons (-10.2%), and Minas Gerais, with 2,900 tons (+25.1%).
