The inauguration of the largest pig slaughterhouse in Latin America is scheduled for 2023 in Assis Chateaubriand, in the Western Region of Paraná. The complex, with 147 thousand square meters of constructed area, will have the capacity to slaughter 15,000 animals per day, after an investment of R$ 2.5 billion. It will create 5,500 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs.

The pork sector is very important to the economy of Paraná, which has much to gain from quality logistics. The Brazilian state is increasingly strengthening the pork production chain, with growing development in slaughterhouses and constant expansion of the market reach of Paraná's production.
