The annual pork meat consumption per capita in Brazil is set at 14 kg, a figure considered to be low when compared with EU consumption, which reaches 40kg.

The country’s low consumption is largely attributed to the fact that they almost never consume fresh pork meat. The country’s consumption is very concentrated in the form of processed products (sausages, hams, cold cuts, etc…) that are generally considered expensive and, therefore, hinder further consumption.
