Belarus sets out rules for allocating pork tariff quotas in 2010

The Government of Belarus has laid down the rules for allocating tariff quotas for pork import in 2010. The relevant resolution has been adopted by the Council of Ministers.

The Government of Belarus has laid down the rules for allocating tariff quotas for pork import in 2010. The relevant resolution has been adopted by the Council of Ministers.

From 1 January to 1 August 2010, 100% tariff quotas for the import of fresh, cooled and frozen pork (number 0203 in the single commodity classification of the foreign economic activity of the Customs Union) will be distributed between the participants of the foreign trade activity who imported pork in 2008 and 2009 proportionally to the average amount of pork imported in 2008 and from 1 January to 20 November 2009 (except for the pork coming from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan).

From 15 September 2010 the tariff quotas will be allocated upon the applications of the participants of foreign trade activities who had received the quotas before 1 August 2010 proportionally to the average amount of pork they imported in Belarus in 2008 and 2009 (except for the pork coming from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan).
