Argentina has successfully made its first export of pork to the Filipino market, a recently opened and rapidly expanding destination that ranks as the sixth-largest global importer of this product.
This first shipment consists of pork by-products that are not consumed in the local market, creating a new opportunity for added value and profit margin for Argentine producers.

The operation was carried out by a leading national company based in Marcos Paz, Buenos Aires province, from where the export was shipped to the Asian country.
The Philippines becomes the third market opened for the Argentine pork sector this year, joining the two recently opened markets in Paraguay (refrigerated offals and fresh/refrigerated boneless pork).
Additionally, in 2024, other destinations for products from the same supply chain were added: the European Union (gelatin and edible pork by-products), Ecuador and South Africa (porcine-derived hemoderivatives), Brazil (breeding swine), and Uruguay (fresh/refrigerated boneless pork, pork hides, semen, and live animals).
