Argentina has been consistent in its objections to this unilateral regulation and has joined forces with the agro-export sector to present relevant information which, through diplomatic and technical efforts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries (SAGyP), demonstrates that products exported to the EU carry a low or negligible risk of deforestation.
Argentina is confident that this additional year will provide an opportunity to engage in constructive dialogue with the European Commission to address the concerns of its trading partners and, based on reliable information, lead to the country's reclassification as low-risk.

The country will also move forward with the development of joint operational plans with the competent authorities of EU Member States to facilitate export control processes and avoid negative impacts on Argentine trade.
