Lacking the last data of December, the slaughtering of pigs during last year (2012) raised by almost 12% in Argentina, according to the data of the Argentinian Ministry of Agriculture. Year 2012 will close with a total of 3.82 to 3.85 million slaughtered pigs.

According to the forecasts it is expected that this rise in production goes on during year 2013 with the incorporation and enlargement of farms. So, some 100,000 pigs per month would be slaughtered in the short term, reaching 350,000 heads per month, with the possibility of closing year 2013 with 4.2 million of annual heads.
