The World Congress of Dry-Cured Ham will take place for the first time in Portugal.

Congresso Mundial do PresuntoThe Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Luis Capoulas Santos, member of the Commission for Agriculture and Rural Development and of the Parliamentary Mixt Delegation UE-México, accepted the invitation of the Organizing Committee to be the Ambassador to the VII World Congress of Dry-Cured Ham, to take place in Ourique between 28th and 31rst of May, 2013.

The World Congress of Dry-Cured Ham, which take place for the first time in Portugal is a moment of an utmost importance to the promotion and valorization of Portuguese agrifood and is essential to the dynamization of new businesses, having in view exportations. Underlying to its achievement is also the valorization of the rural world and of its specificities and traditions.

For the Organizing Committee of the VII World Congress of Dry-Cured Ham, the acceptance of MEP Luis Capoulas Santos to perform the duty of Ambassador is an honor and strengths the credibility and the goals of the organization, once his route and notoriety in several European and International sectors are indeed an added value.
