At the end of July of 2009 Laboratorios Ovejero SA bought Polish pharmaceutical company Biowet Drwalew.

Biowet, just as Laboratorios Ovejero, is a company with wide experience in animal health. It will form part of the internationalization policy through subsidiaries (Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay) as well as the Joint-Venture established in Thailand since 2004. By this means Laboratorios Ovejero SA addresses consolidation in international markets.

The operation is part of the European expansion project and in this many synergies are created, from which both companies gain strength due to their complementary structures.

Biowet Drwalew holds a strong position in Poland, ample production capacity and appropriate GMP for the marketing of products inside and outside the country. Currently it possesses a portfolio of 59 products, up-to-date and authorised for sale, and what is more, it is a leader in some niches of the Polish market, such as in the case of Calcio.

With this purchase Laboratorios Ovejero SA gains entry to the markets peripheral to Poland such as Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Kazakhstan and Baltic countries in an efficient and competitive way. And in addition, as a consequence of geographical advantages and of the complementary nature of the portfolio of products, new opportunities present themselves on the horizon.

For its part Laboratorios Ovejero SA, with parallel sustained growth and ambition in Europe, is pursuing 50 new licences in various countries (the UK, France, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, and Portugal).

Laboratorios Ovejero bases all its strength in innovative product lines on its Research and Development projects, whose fruits, new patents, will contribute to important progress in the world of veterinary medication.
