logoEnergyDecentral 2026, the leading trade fair for decentralized energy supply, will take place from 10 to 13 November at the Hanover exhibition grounds alongside the EuroTier livstock exhibition and the “Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food Show.” Covering the entire value chain of sustainable energy production, EnergyDecentral offers an up-to-date technical and exhibition program.

EnergyDecentral 2026 reflects the full spectrum of current developments in decentralized energy supply and provides practical guidance for the industry. Key topics include biogas, solid fuels, combined heat and power (CHP), power-to-gas and photovoltaics. At the same time, the technical program addresses current issues such as the integration of renewable energies into agricultural operations, energy storage and sector coupling, as well as new business models for energy generation.

A new thematic focus is carbon farming. Particular attention is given to the production and use of biochar, which is considered an effective method for long-term carbon sequestration. EnergyDecentral will showcase innovative processes for producing biochar and its application in agricultural systems. Another focus lies on market access and certification: visitors will gain insights into current standards, quality requirements and certification systems for CO2 sink projects. In addition, economic prospects will be explored, particularly through CO2 certificate trading and the integration of carbon farming measures into new agricultural business models.

The combination of energy and agricultural systems highlights the growing importance of integrated solutions for sustainable and resource-efficient production. EnergyDecentral thus provides a central platform for knowledge transfer, innovation and professional exchange along the entire value chain.

DLG Spotlight: “DLG Solar Initiative + Energy from the Farm”

A central highlight of the program is the DLG Spotlight “DLG Solar Initiative + Energy from the Farm.” It demonstrates how agricultural businesses can become key players in regional energy supply through innovative concepts.

The focus is on agrivoltaics for dual land use, battery storage as a key factor for flexibility and profitability, and the intelligent combination of biogas, agrivoltaics and storage solutions. New approaches in wind energy and energy marketing are also discussed.

The spotlight illustrates how integrated energy concepts can generate additional value and greater independence for farms—turning them into key pillars of the energy transition.

DLG Expert Stage: Practical Knowledge for Business Decisions

The DLG Expert Stage “EnergyDecentral” offers a compact, practice-oriented stage program for professional visitors on all four days of the fair. Key themes include biogas and biomethane, photovoltaic and storage solutions, wood energy, CHP, and carbon farming.

Expert lectures, panel discussions and expert statements provide in-depth insights into technological developments, economic potential and regulatory frameworks. The format is particularly aimed at farmers, investors, planners and all stakeholders in decentralized energy, seeking concrete decision-making support for their operations.

Innovation Award EnergyDecentral: Recognizing Technological Excellence

Another highlight of the event is the Innovation Award EnergyDecentral. Organized by the DLG (German Agricultural Society), the award honors pioneering developments in decentralized energy generation.

The prestigious innovation award is presented in gold and silver by an independent international expert jury and recognizes technological innovations that enable new processes or significantly improve existing solutions.

Evaluation criteria include practical relevance, economic benefits for farms, improvements in environmental and energy performance, and effects on occupational safety and efficiency. The award-winning products represent the innovative strength of the industry and provide important impulses for its further development.

Ticket Shop Open – Benefits of Online Purchase

The ticket shop for EnergyDecentral 2026 is now open. A day ticket costs 33 euros in the online shop and 42 euros at the on-site ticket office. A season ticket valid on all four days is particularly worthwhile for visitors planning to attend more than two days. This ticket costs 78 euros online and 99 euros at the venue.

Day tickets are valid on any chosen day between 10 and 13 November. Season tickets are valid for entry on all four days.

Digital Services: App and Planning Tools

To support preparation and navigation, a trade fair app is available, bundling key information and making the visit significantly easier.

With the app, visitors can search for exhibitors, plan optimal routes through the halls, and access up-to-date program information. In addition, the app offers interactive hall maps as well as networking and matchmaking features to help users connect with relevant contacts and efficiently organize on-site meetings.
