With the launch of the DLG-VetConvention 2026, the DLG (German Agricultural Society) is introducing a new central platform for large animal and herd veterinarians at EuroTier 2026, taking place from 10 to 13 November 2026 in Hanover, Germany. This two-day specialist event, which includes a compact foyer exhibition, is designed to connect veterinary professionals from practice, clinics, and research with key players from livestock technology, feed production, agricultural practice, professional associations, media, and service providers. Participants will benefit from the unique combination of EuroTier, the world’s leading trade fair for professional animal farming, and a high-level technical program. Highlights include topic-focused guided tours of the exhibition, masterclasses on current issues in large animal and herd veterinary medicine, expert presentations, and a range of networking opportunities – all in direct exchange with the whole industry. The DLG-VetConvention will take place on 12 and 13 November 2026 within the framework of EuroTier in Hanover, Germany.
Focus on knowledge exchange and networking
Tailored to the needs of veterinary professionals and industry stakeholders, the DLG-VetCon 2026 offers a program of expert lectures and practical discussion panels addressing current challenges in animal health, herd management, and sustainable livestock farming. A dedicated foyer exhibition will provide a dedicated space for personal dialogue and direct contact with service providers and partners.

Networking evening and animal welfare award
A special highlight of the event is the networking evening on 12 November, offering a relaxed setting to further strengthen existing relationships and build new connections with agricultural practitioners and EuroTier exhibitors. During the evening, the Animal Welfare Award 2026 will be presented. Since 2018, this award has been jointly presented by DLG and the German Association of Practicing Veterinarians (bpt), recognizing innovations that significantly advance animal welfare standards.
“With the DLG-VetCon 2026, we are creating an innovative meeting place for large animal and herd veterinarians,” says Ines Rathke, Project Manager of EuroTier. “Participants will benefit not only from the latest scientific insights but also from networking with companies and institutions across the entire value chain. EuroTier, as the world’s leading trade fair for livestock farming, provides the ideal setting for this new format.”
EuroTier 2026: “Intelligence in Animal Farming”
Under the guiding theme “Intelligence in animal farming”, EuroTier 2026 will showcase smart technologies for efficient, sustainable, and animal-friendly livestock production. The four-day trade fair covers all major livestock species – cattle, pigs, poultry, sheep, goats, and horses – and will once again be held alongside EnergyDecentral, the international trade fair for innovative energy supply, and the Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food Show.
