logoMore than 200 swine health experts from over 20 countries gathered at Ceva Santé Animale’s new global headquarters in Libourne, France, to attend the first Ceva Swine Innovation Summit, themed “Advancing Swine Health.

The event brought together veterinarians, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss the latest scientific developments and field insights related to two of the swine industry’s most important pathogens — Porcine Circovirus Type 2 (PCV2) and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae — and to explore innovative strategies for prevention and control.

The summit was opened by Dr. Marc Prikazsky, CEO of Ceva Santé Animale, and Dr. Cristian Gutiérrez Jaramis, Swine Franchise Vice President, who reaffirmed Ceva’s commitment to supporting swine producers worldwide.

We’re committed to partnering with pig producers on the prevention and control of significant diseases, helping them provide quality care for their animals’ health and welfare,” - Dr. Marc Prikazsky.

Both speakers highlighted Ceva’s mission under the “One Ceva. One Health. One Planet.” vision — reinforcing that animal health plays a vital role in ensuring food safety, sustainability, and human health globally.

A key focus of the Summit was CIRBLOC® M Hyo, Ceva’s dual-action piglet vaccine offering simultaneous protection against both PCV2 and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae. Philippe Mazerolles, Swine Corporate Marketing Director, introduced the vaccine, emphasizing that it is the “only ready-to-use vaccine based on the PCV2d genotype — the most prevalent genotype worldwide.”

Scientific updates were presented by Dr. Marina Sibila Vidal (IRTA-CReSA, Spain) and Prof. Dr. Dominiek Maes (University of Ghent, Belgium). Dr. Sibila shared results demonstrating strong efficacy regardless of maternally derived antibody (MDA) levels. Prof. Maes discussed the vaccine’s efficacy in reducing clinical signs, lesions, and infection loads associated with M. hyo.

Practical experiences from around the world with CIRBLOC® M Hyo in real farm conditions were shared, highlighting its safety, ease of use, and performance under diverse production systems. Case studies from Spain (Vall Companys), Germany and Central Europe (Vetxperts) and Brazil (BRF) illustrated how the vaccine has helped improve respiratory health, homogeneity, and overall herd performance.

The summit concluded with a forward-looking presentation by Dr. Éva Gocsik, Global Strategist for Animal Protein at RaboResearch. She highlighted key dynamics shaping the global pork market in 2026: tightening supply in China, margin pressures, geopolitical trade tensions, ongoing animal health challenges, and the growing importance of sustainability.

Uncertainty stays constant and is increasing in the global market. This is not something that companies can influence — they just need to get better at managing uncertainty by improving supply chain resiliency, diversifying markets and products and increasing collaboration in the supply chain.” - Dr. Gocsik advised.

The Ceva Swine Innovation Summit 2025 marked a significant step in the company’s ongoing collaboration with producers, veterinarians, and scientists to improve swine health and productivity.

As Dr. Prikazsky summarized at the Welcome Reception, Ceva’s mission extends beyond vaccines: “We provide more than animal health — we take care of human health by contributing to feed the world.

The event concluded with an evening networking session and dinner in Saint-Émilion, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that defined the Summit.
