Piotr Biernacki was born in 1987 in Poland. In 2012 he graduated from Veterinary Medicine at Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland). In 2012- 2014 he had been working in the field for veterinary clinic KierVet. From 2014 he practices in Vet-com – a private practice focused on swine health management. He attends specialization studies “Diseases of pigs”, Pulawy, Poland.

S/P values for oral fluid are usually much higher than in case of serum samples (S/P 3.0 or more is often for positives). However, the number of Ab in saliva is significantly lower than in serum, so S/P >0.4 tells us that the animals should gain the immunity. Normally I’m satisfied if the S/P is 1 or more. Bear in mind that the result may vary on the sample quality (positive, watery sample or sample with a lot of “dirt” may give lower results, closer to 0.4 or even negative).
