He is known worldwide for his extensive experience in the field of animal science, with an emphasis on nutrition and feeding of non-ruminants. He has been the creator and editor of the Brazilian Tables for Poultry and Swine since its first edition. Dr. Horacio S. Rostagno is a retired professor of the Department of Animal Science of the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV).
