Research

I am focused on applying the concepts of veterinary epidemiology and statistics to develop science-driven information on applied strategies to significantly prevent, detect or manage infectious diseases in order to provide evidence-based solutions to support decision-making in swine production.
Areas of interest: field studies, risk assessment, biosecurity, monitoring of production data, surveillance systems, swine production and health, disease economics and interdisciplinary programs.
Research program involves graduate students working directly with veterinarians and swine producers, which leverages resources and naturally connects research, extension/outreach, and education.
