What does a positive ELISA test result for PRRS tells us?

incorrect answer

Antibodies measured by the ELISA test are not correlated with protection and only allow us to conclude if an animal has had previous exposure to PRRSV. It cannot be distinguished if those antibodies are directed against field virus or modified live virus from a vaccine. These tests also do not allow the differentiation between maternally derived antibodies and antibodies actively produced by a piglet.
