Feed

Compound feed is a mix of different raw materials that are processed jointly. Its normal presentation is in the form of meal or of different-sized pellets according to the age of the pigs that will consume it. Normally, it is a balanced food, and this means that it must be specific for the kind of animals (species and age) to which it is intended. For instance, a starter compound feed for piglets is not the same as a finishing compound feed for fattening pigs, a compound feed for lactating sows or a compound feed for fattening calves.
