Average Daily Gain

It is a value that shows the weight gain of an animal per day. It is obtained dividing how much an animal has grown (how much weight it has gained) by the period of time spent to accomplish it. For example, if a newly weaned piglet with a liveweight of 6 kg takes 7 weeks (49 days) to reach a body weight of 30 kg (24 kg gained in this period), its ADG will be: 24 kg / 49 days = 0.49 kg.
