Torque teno sus virus

In pigs, the torque teno virus was initially associated with the wasting syndrome related with circovirus but today its importance is unknown.

There are two species of torque teno virus (TTV1 and TTV2) that infect pigs. These viruses were initially associated with porcine circovirus and with the postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome. Today its epidemiology and its importance is still unknown.

  • Maybe associated with porcine circovirus.

 

Diagnosis

  • Identification of the virus by PCR.
