Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has approved the development of a new food security information system.

The eight-year project, scheduled to begin next year and worth USD 1.7 million, is aimed at providing detailed data for national food security policy implementation. As part of the project, systems based on market supply, market demand and food policies will be set up. The first system is expected to collect information related to weather changes, climate, plant disease, animal disease as well as food production.
