U.S. meat exports to Chile increased over 500%

U.S. meat exports to Chile increased over 500% January to July 2010, in comparison with the same period in 2009. While the U.S. is far from being the main supplier of meat in Chile; mainly due to the distance and strong regional competitors in the area, such us Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil, U.S. meat producers are slowly capturing market share.

U.S. meat exports to Chile increased over 500% January to July 2010, in comparison with the same period in 2009.

While the U.S. is far from being the main supplier of meat in Chile; mainly due to the distance and strong regional competitors in the area, such us Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil, U.S. meat producers are slowly capturing market share.

U.S. Bovine meat exports for the period Jan-July 2010, reached $1.5 million, 585% more than in the same period in 2009 U.S. Pork meat exports for the period Jan-July 2010 reached $6.6 million, 471% more than in the same period in 2009 U.S. Poultry meat exports for Jan-July 2010 reached $13.4 million, 18,000% more than in the same time frame in 2009.
