During the meeting of the General Council of Interprofessional Agrifood Organizations was approved the extension proposed by the Interprofessional Swine Organization (Interporc).

This standard extension is oriented towards activities to promote consumption and demand for pork and for the optimization of knowledge and information transparency in the swine sector.

It also aims to enhance quality and technological innovation in the sector throughout the 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15 campaigns.

To finance the extension, there will be economic contributions from producers and the meat industry (processing and marketing). The total economic contribution, for each year, will be 0.06 cents for the first year (divided into two shares of 0.03 cents per pig for each of the branches called a professional production quota and processing fee).

For the second year the contribution will be 0.10 cents (split into two shares of 0.05 cents per pig for each of the branches, called professional production quota and processing fee), and 0.14 cents for the third season (divided into two shares of 0.07 cents per pig for each of the branches, called professional production quota and processing fee).
