The Brazilian and Mexican governments have concluded sanitary negotiations that will allow Brazil to export animal meal (from cattle and pigs) to Mexico.
With a population of nearly 130 million and the second-largest economy in Latin America, after Brazil, Mexico is a key trading partner for Brazilian agribusiness. Between January 2023 and July 2025, Mexico imported agricultural products from Brazil worth US$7.7 billion, especially soybeans, coffee, and animal protein.

This new opening represents an opportunity for Brazilian producers and exporters of animal by-products, given that Mexico is a major importer of such products.
