Canada: Funding for manure and livestock management in Ontario

Funding is available to support the adoption of practices that improve livestock performance and manure management.

Manitoba Agriculture has announced several new funding opportunities available under the Sustainable Agriculture Manitoba (SAM) program.

Funding is available to producers to implement cost-shared beneficial management practices that increase the environmental and economic sustainability of agriculture operations in Manitoba.

For 2026-2027, SAM is offering eleven beneficial management practices under three funding streams:

  • Cropland Management (including reduced pesticide use up to $55,000)
  • Manure & Livestock Management (including improved manure management equipment up to $430,000)
  • Water Management (including improved water use efficiency up to $55,000)

Please note that applications must be received by January 5, 2026.
