Export situation in 2024
The volume of French pork meat and products exported to third countries in 2024, at 274,744 tons, represents a slight recovery from the low recorded in 2023 (262,136 t), but is still far below the levels reached between 2019 and 2021, when annual exports exceeded 300,000 tons.

Main products exported
In 2024, French pork exports to third countries were mostly concentrated in frozen meat (111,743 t) and offal (105,306 t), which together accounted for almost 80% of the total. Other notable products were sausages (25,078 t), fresh meat (17,179 t), and pork fat or lard (13,132 t). Exports of cured and processed products, such as salted or smoked meat and stuffed pastas, were more marginal.

Main destinations
In 2024, China remained the main destination for French pork exports, with 115,365 t, representing more than 40% of the total. It was followed by the United Kingdom (41,281 t) and the Philippines (39,468 t), consolidating their position as key trading partners. Japan was in fourth place with 20,083 tons. Other relevant destinations, although with more modest volumes, include South Korea, Ivory Coast, Taiwan, Gabon, and Hong Kong.
