In meeting with Mr. Bognar, Mr. Zhang recalled that China and Hungary established diplomatic relations in 1949 and have elevated bilateral ties to comprehensive strategic partnership in recent years. The agricultural cooperation between the two sides has enjoyed solid foundation and achieved fruitful results. It also helps to promote friendship and mutual understanding, improved veterinary service in respective countries and enhanced animal product trade safety.
Mr. Zhang suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in the areas of animal disease and zoonosis control, international and regional veterinary service management, and animal health information sharing, as well as veterinary personnel exchanges.
Mr. Bognar fully agreed with Mr. Zhang, noting that China and Hungary are long-time friends and the Hungarian veterinary department hopes to deepen existing cooperation with China. Mr. Zhang’s visit to Hungary opened a new phase of bilateral cooperation as an important move to implement the strategy defined by the leaders of the two countries. He believed that China and Hungary will make greater success in safeguarding animal health and public health and boosting bilateral ties.
During his stay in Hungary, Mr. Zhang visited the veterinary bodies, research institutes and livestock farms, and had in-depth discussions with local officials, technicians and farmers.
