Pig slaughter totaled 15.81 million head in the third quarter of 2025, representing an increase of 5.3% over the same quarter of the previous year and an increase of 4.8% compared to the second quarter of 2025. Cumulative carcass weight reached 1.49 million tons in the third quarter of 2025, up 6.1% from the third quarter of 2024 and up 4.8% compared to the immediately preceding quarter.
In the third quarter of 2025, 11.28 million head of cattle were slaughtered, representing an increase of 7.4% compared to the third quarter of 2024 and an increase of 7.1% compared to the immediately preceding quarter. The slaughter of 1.69 billion chickens represented an increase of 2.9% compared to the same period in 2024 and an increase of 3.0% compared to the second quarter of 2025.

Each species (cattle, pigs, and chickens) reached a record high, registering the highest formal slaughter in the historical series in this third quarter. The data are from the complete results of the Livestock Production Statistics for the third quarter of 2025, released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
