Argentina and Colombia join efforts to make the most of the agriculture potential

A memorandum of understanding regarding agriculture and livestock matters was signed to promote technological development and research programmes or projects related to the food and agriculture sectors.

Within the context of the first state visit of the President of Argentina, Mr. Mauricio Macri, to Colombia, in which he gathered with the President of Colombia, Mr. Juan Manuel Santos, and the Ministers of Agriculture of both countries, Mr. Ricardo Buryaile and Mr. Aurelio Iragorri Valencia, they signed an agreement to stregthen the joint work towards the transference of abilities, innovation and technology to food chains such as those regarding meat, cereals and milk.

The Ministers of Agriculture showed the will of both nations to work together for initiating effective public policies for the territorial and the agribusiness sector development in a sustainable way.

The Ministers signed a memorandum of understanding in agricuture and livestock in order to favour research and technological development programmes or projects related to the agriculture, livesock and food sectors.

Likewise, an exchange of technicians, scientists and experts in sustainable agricultural development, and of great areas for the study, preparation and execution of programmes regarding this matter were agreed on. Both countries encouraged each other to consolidate the the cooperation and to support the rural eforts that strengthen more the agriculture and livestock alliances.
